Workplace Assessments
Workstation assessment involves:
- Gathering information on workers job demands and ergonomic concerns (may involve photography of worker at the workstation).
- Taking appropriate measurements.
- Adjusting equipment and providing education on proper adjustment.
- Making appropriate recommendations for ergonomic changes.
- Providing general education on ergonomic setup and principles.
- Education handouts are provided to individuals (stretches, ergonomic tips and strategies).
- A report is generated for the referral source outlining ergonomic recommendations (detail in the report is dependent on the referral request). Specific product information can be provided if requested.
- The Occupational Health Nurse is able to assist in implementation of products through local vendors if requested.
- If several recommendations are made, the occupational health nurse is able to return to the assessment site to offer follow up services, education on proper adjustment and use of equipment to the individuals.
