Medical Fit to Work Testing

"Fit to work" or "fitness to work" is a medical assessment done by Precede's Registered Nurses or Doctors when our clients wish to be sure that an employee can safely do a specific job or task. The purpose is to determine if medically, the employee can perform the job or task under the working conditions. Fit to work assessments are most often done to determine medical fitness after an illness or injury, but are sometimes done after employment has been offered, as requested by the employer, or as a condition of a job transfer, as well as a way to establish base-line health data for employees.

This medical exam is the foundation of establishing medical clearance to work in any type of safety-sensitive roles. Our medical fitness testing and functional testing services are completed ONLY by Registered Nurses with Occupational Health Certification or training, and/or Medical Doctors. We are able to customize our Medicals to meet the needs of any of our clients, whether they are working in Canada or Internationally,

These exams support our clients that operate in safety-sensitive industries/areas/positions by managing employee health risks, and improving their general health and wellness by medically assessing whether employees are medically fit for the job they are asked to perform.

Our comprehensive medical exam includes a full medical history and head-to-toe physical assessment that is based on each client's PDA requirements. All medical exams are performed only by a Registered Nurse and/or Doctor, and results are individually reviewed by our Nurse Director, Bonnie Krauss, and our Physician, Dr. John Cutbill as required. This helps Precede assure leading edge quality, consistency, and the highest level of medical expertise in the industry. Our Results Team, led by Nurse Director and MRO will determine fitness for duty, recommend any additional assessments if they are needed or required, and will also advise any necessary follow-up interventions on behalf of our clients.
