COMMERCIAL VEHICLE INSPECTION PROGRAM (CVIP)

This is a mandatory annual or semi-annual inspection program required for all NSC (National Safety Code) vehicles.  It must be done at an “approved” facility that checks vehicles for mechanical fitness.  A vehicle with a gross weight of 11,794 kilograms Provincial and/or a bus originally designed to carry 11 or more passengers cannot be operated on a highway without a valid CVIP inspection.  This would apply to provincial carriers and to federal carriers operating within Alberta.  When a federal carrier operates outside of Alberta, they must comply with the CVIP requirements of those jurisdictions.

E MANIFEST SUBMISSION FOR CANADA AND USA (ACE & ACI)

Fortunately the governments of the United States and Canada have created a way to submit cargo manifests electronically prior to arrival at customs. These E Manifests greatly reduce the time that a carrier has to wait to get clearance to cross the border, saving both time and money for everyone involved.

E Manifests not only save time, they are now required for all shipments entering the United States from Canada or Mexico . Failure to comply with the Automated Commerce Environment (ACE) regulations in the United States can result in fines ranging from $5,000 – $10,000.

We transmit your E Manifests safely and securely before your drivers reach the border crossing and then provide your driver with all the documentation he needs to complete the crossing.
